This year’s garden is a fantastic experiment. We enlisted the help of BYU students who didn’t have a garden of their own to come out and share in ours. We think it will be a wonderful success. Goodness knows how we’ve needed the extra help before and it’s so much more fun anyway when you are gardening with enthusiastic positive people. Wish we had thought of this years ago!

We will be keeping tabs on the garden’s progress throughout the season here on the Sunspring website. We try to maintain a natural approach to gardening and use organic sustainable methods. Even though we have a good amount of space, we are still interested in intensive gardening techniques and integrated management.

In addition to our veggie garden, we are expecting raspberries, several kinds of blackberries, boysenberries, nectarines, peaches, apples, pears, apricots and cherries. Hopefully, we’ll get a better handle on the melon patch as well. Shery tends to go overboard on heirloom melons – oh, and the tomatoes. She planted 34 different heirloom varieties of those this year!
